Accessible signage

Braille and tactile signs that everyone can read

Braille signs are essential for people with visual impairments. Raised characters and braille let every visitor find washrooms, stairs, exits and rooms on their own, so everyone in your facility has the same information.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between AODA and ADA signs?
ADA is the accessibility standard in the United States. In Ontario, accessible signage falls under the AODA and the Ontario Building Code. "ADA signs" is often used as a general name for braille and tactile signs. Let us know which standard your project uses.
Which rooms usually need braille signs?
Washrooms, stairwells, exits, elevators and permanent rooms such as offices and suites are the most common. Your architect or accessibility plan will list exactly which signs are needed.
Can braille signs match the rest of our signage?
Yes. We can match the colours, sizes and style of your room ID and directional signs so the whole building looks consistent.
